Severe Weather RatedFurther enhances winter performance while maintaining excellent wet traction. The sipes are deep to provide performance benefits throughout the life of the tire.
StuddableProvides biting edges for excellent snow and ice traction without reducing element stiffness. Enhances the retention of snow in the outer circumferential grooves to capitilize on the higher traction characteristics of 'snow on snow' versus 'snow on rubber'.
'D-Squared' Sipe TechnologyThe stud pin hole design improves stud retention and the number has been increased allowing for the use of a greater number of studs for better traction on ice. The stud size is conveniently molded into the sidewall for easy reference.

I got 22,000 miles out of these tires. I bought them in the middle of the winter. They seemed great until the snow got deep. After 6 inches of snow, don't expect much. I'm a mail man and drive all types of roads. For the money, this is a good tire.

Would Buy Again 4/5   Hydroplaning Resistance 3/5
Wet Traction 4/5   Cornering Stability 5/5
Dry Traction 4/5   Steering Response 5/5
Snow Traction 3/5

I didn't have any issues with the Courser. I liked the name, made me think of an elk running through the snow. While it wasn't great in deep snow, it did okay on Fairbanks roads in the middle of winter as a studded tire, especially for the money. Felt pretty stable in turns. Wasn't my favorite, didn't use it in the summer since it was studded. I had it on 6.5" black steel rims, and I hope to upgrade to 7" wide ones so rear wheel-well rubbing on bumps isn't an issue anymore.

Would Buy Again 4/5   Hydroplaning Resistance 3/5
Wet Traction 3/5   Cornering Stability 5/5
Dry Traction 4/5   Steering Response 5/5
Snow Traction 3/5
